Carolyn Jean Bandy Yowell, 92, of Hustonville passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Born in Perryville on March 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth Howard Bandy.

Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a valued native of the community working for years at The National Bank of Hustonville. Carolyn raised her family while also keeping a meticulous lawn, a beautiful flower garden, and a spotless house...she was a true farm girl. Carolyn was an avid sports fan, basketball being her favorite, often telling stories of attending University of Kentucky ballgames with her husband Tommy. Her love of animals many times led to her adopting strays that would find their way to her. She would never let an animal go hungry.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Jimmy (Donna) Yowell of Hustonville; daughter, Ann M. Yowell (Mike Wilson) of Locust, NC; grandchildren: Kelley Kuchenbrod (David Collins), Scott (Jennifer) Yowell, and Allison (P.J.) Borosky; and great grandchildren: Michael Kuchenbrod, Mackenzie (Corey) Steber, Caroline Yowell, Justin Borosky and Maggie Borosky.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her spouse, Thomas Yowell; brothers: Bernard Bandy, Keith Bandy, and James Bandy; and sisters: Barbara Kurtz, Peggy Mitchell, and Cathy VonGruenigen.

Graveside service at Hustonville Cemetery will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 1:00pm with Chaplain Jacob Bryant officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be sent to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society.
