Carlos "Chico" Lynn Gilpin, 61, of Gravel Switch, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. Born in Mitchellsburg on December 26, 1963, he was the son of the late Ernest Williamson and Carrie Janie Reardon Gilpin.

Chico enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He enjoyed his job as a brick and block layer. Chico was a beloved father and enjoyed camping with his boys.

Chico is survived by his son, Carlos Gilpin, Jr. "C.J." (Lisa Richards) of Gravel Switch; life partner, Heather Young, and her son, Blake Wren; sisters: Jennifer Alsman of Loretto, Roberta Gilpin of Lebanon, Tammy (Rodney) Maddox of Gravel Switch, Wanda Stratton of Mitchellsburg, and Martha (David) Sexton of Junction City; brothers: Danny Gilpin (Mary Belcher) of Lebanon, Anthony (Louise) Gilpin of Gravel Switch, and Charlie (Ann) Gilpin of Mitchellsburg; grandchildren: Madison Richards, Marisa Nulle, and Mark "Bubba" Nulle; great-grandchild, Rowan: and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chico was preceded in death by his son, David Ernest Gilpin; brother, Ernie Gilpin; sisters, Virginia Montgomery and Mattie Marie Newton; and the mother of his children, Allisia Gay Gilpin.

Visitation is 12:00 PM-2:00 PM Wednesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jerry Lanham officiating. Burial will be at Parksville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Larry Reardon, Mike Gilpin, Blake Wren, Rodney Maddox, Bruce Gilpin, Timmy Gilpin, Timmy Buckley, and Adam Hudson.
