Brenda Sue Wray Banta Louque, 61, of Norco, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Born in Danville on April 19, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen Josephine Turpin Wray.
Brenda was a retired LPN having worked in the nursing field for more than 25 years until her illness forced her to retire. She was a published author having written several books and had articles published in the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series. She was a Kentucky Colonel.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 16 years, Donald Louque of Norco, LA; stepchildren, Kelsey Louque (Ashley Martinez) of Mandeville, LA and Angel (Christian) Poche of LaPlace, LA; step grandchildren that she loved dearly, Ryan Martinez, Cherish Poche, and Rhett Louque; her siblings, Donna (Stacey) Daugherty of Hustonville, Carol Buchanan of Hustonville, and David Wray of Stanford. She is also survived by her aunt, Marlene Smith, several cousins, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her only child, Tyler Banta and a brother, Tommy Wray.
Visitation is 5:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, May 15, 2025, at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kelsey Louque, Tony Turpin, Steve Mullins, Kenny Turpin, Kyle Porter, and Scott Wray.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Louisiana at a later date.
