Obituary

Brenda Faye Wren Hillard, 70, of Danville went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. She was born on October 10, 1955, in Danville to the late Henry King Wren and Mable Wilkerson Wren.

Brenda's life began with a story of love and family sacrifice. At a very young age, due to illness in the family, she was lovingly raised by her aunt and uncle, Bertha and Woodrow Wren. Bertha already had a house full of children and a heart big enough for one more. When asked to name the baby, Bertha simply said, "She looks like a Brenda Faye", and the name stuck for life. Brenda was raised as one of her own and grew up surrounded by a large, close-knit Kentucky family.

Family was everything to Brenda. She loved deeply, gave freely, and never met a stranger. To her, family wasn't just blood- it was anyone she cared about. She enjoyed every chance to be around her loved ones, especially at family gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and good old-fashioned fellowship.

Above all else, Brenda loved the Lord. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and remained faithful throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Burgin Church of God, where her faith stayed strong and steady through every season of life. Brenda loved her church family, worship, and sharing the goodness of God with anyone willing to listen.

In 1984, Brenda married the love of her life, Don "Kenny" Kenneth Hillard. She often said she had married a very good-looking man, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Don Kenneth Hillard, who was the pride and joy of her life. Being Kenny's wife and Don's mother were two of her greatest blessings.

Brenda was a hardworking Kentucky woman through and through. She took pride in every job she held and made friends wherever she went. Over the years, she worked for Wal-Mart in Danville and Harrodsburg, Equipment Sales and Rental, Horn Ford Tractor, Boyle County Stockyards, Lawson's Tractor and Implement II, H & S Tractor, and later as custodian for the Social Security Administration office in Danville. She believed in honest work and showed up every day with dedication and heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Kenneth "Kenny" Hillard, her parents, Henry King Wren and Mable Wilderson Wren; her aunt and uncle who raised her, Bertha and Woodrow Wren; and her brothers: Billy Wren, David Wren, Curtis Wren, Dickie Wren, Tony Wren, and Jerry Wren.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Don Kenneth Hillard; her brothers and sisters: James Wren (Nancy), Glen Wren (Linda), Jenny (Wesley), Mike Wren (Jennifer), Johnny Wren, Barbara, Linda, Teresa, Allan, and Robbie; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

Visitation is 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM Thursday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1:00 PM with Travis Irvin and Ted McKenney officiating. Burial will follow in Parksville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Allen Wren, Rodney Wren, Floyd Hillard, Shane Wren, Todd Wren, Anthony Hillard, Joey Wren, and Alex Harmon. Honorary pallbearer are Bishop Donnie Irvin and Junior Barnett.

Though their hearts are heavy, they rejoice knowing Brenda is at peace in the presence of her Lord. She has finished her race, kept the faith, and is now reunited with loved ones gone before her. Her love, her laughter, her faith, and her spirit will live on in all who were blessed to know her until they meet again.
