Obituary

Billie Evelyn Readnour Coffman, 91 of Little South Community, Casey County passed away peacefully Friday, January 21, 2022, at Fountain Circle Nursing Home in Winchester, KY, Born March 20, 1930, in Paris, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Nellie (Lee) Readnour.  She was the widow of Donald Dale Coffman whom she married March 5th1949 and was married 62 years until his death in 2011. Mrs. Coffman was a graduate of Forkland High School, she retired from Casey County Board of Education where she served as secretary at Cox Elementary for many years until it closed. After retiring, she was a devoted housewife and helped her husband run a farm growing tobacco and helping with dairy cows.  She was also a babysitter for friends and for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They all enjoyed going to "Granny & Pa's". She sold Avon for a number of years and made many close friends while doing that.   She was a devoted Christian and was a faithful member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church where she served as treasurer and taught Sunday School for many years.  Most of all, Mrs. Coffman took her walk with God seriously and it was a huge part of her life.  She was a very loving and kind person who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren deeply; they were the light of her life. Whenever you visited, she was always glad to see you, had a smile on her face and hated to see you leave.  Billie was a breast cancer survivor and participated in Komen Race For the Cure events. She was very proud of that.

Survivors include 2 sons, Philip Coffman of Hustonville and Steve Coffman(Joyce) of Lexington; a daughter, Reba Gail Dix (Jim) of Campbellsville; 6 grandchildren: Amanda Johnson(Jeremy) of Danville,  Scott (Amy) Coffman of Hustonville, Marty (Shannon) Coffman of Florence, Melissa (Michael) Donahue of Columbus, Ohio, and Buddy Smiley and Debbie Smiley, both of St. Louis, Missouri; 7 great grandchildren:  Hunter (Aly) Jeffries, Harper Jeffries, and Jordan Johnson, all of Danville,  Haylee Coffman and Chase Coffman of Florence, and Andrew Donahue and Katherine Donahue of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Paul Readnour of Hustonville; sister in law, Fern Cox of Bradfordsville; and brother in law; Mickey Holley of Murrels Inlet, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Rose VonLinger Coffman; six sisters and their spouses: Lucille (JB) McRoberts, Dorothy (Melvin) Fite, Mable (Ray) Keller, Ruby (Clarence) Platt, Lillie "Wittie" (Milt) Noe, and Sue Holley; one brother, Charles (Ardeth) Readnour; one brother-in-law, Billy Cox and sister-in-law, Astera Readnour.

Visitation is 5-8 pm, Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service is 1 pm, Wednesday with Bro. Paul Readnour and Bro. Ron Readnour officiating.  Pallbearers are Scott Coffman, Marty Coffman, Jeremy Johnson, Hunter Jeffries, Harper Jeffries, Chase Coffman, Tim Readnour, and Doug Readnour.  Honorary pallbearers are Karrell Wilkerson, Verla Jones,  Tyler Cox, Justin Cox, and the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at the Fountain Circle Nursing Home in Winchester.  Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.  A Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com
