Betty Ann Turney, 81, of Hustonville passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Born in Mt. Salem on August 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George Louis and Gertrude Naomi Smith Chapman.

Betty Ann attended Mt. Salem Baptist Church. She was a gifted singer and loved all music, especially Elvis. Betty Ann was a great cook, baker, gardener, and historian and enjoyed genealogy. She was fond of all birds and loved hummingbirds. Betty Ann had worked at the Danville Advocate and as a secretary for Senator Bob Graham in Miami. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and "Mama Betty" to her grandkids and great- grandkids.

Betty Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Gray Turney of Hustonville; sons: Jeffrey Gray (Julie) Turney of Russell Springs and Christopher George (Holly) Turney of Junction City; sister, Jane (Tommy) Bowling of TN; brother, Tim (Charlene) Chapman of FL; grandchildren: Sara Elise Turney of MT, Forrest Gray Turney of SC, Christopher Seth Turney of Danville, Alexandra Gray Turney of Danville, Victoria Madison (Ben) Henson of Danville, Hannah Louise Davis of Russell Springs, and Emily Lorna (Phillip) Godbey of Windsor; and great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Garrett, Jaxson, Alistair, Silas, Avery, River, Dax, Jace, and Mollie.
