Betty
Terrell
Jun 22, 1942 — Jun 16, 2026
Hustonville
Betty Lee Gaddis Terrell of Hustonville passed peacefully yet triumphantly into the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, on June 16, 2026. She was surrounded in presence and spirit by the love of her family. She was just six days shy of her birthday on June 22, having lived a life marked by strength, compassion, and service to others.
Betty was a devoted wife of 68 years to Dawson Terrell. She was also a loving mother to Danny (Roxanne) Terrell, Kalen (Terry) Terrell-Henry, Regina (AJ) Leese, and Shelley (Shane) Rousey. She was a cherished grandmother to Brittany (Tyler) Greene, Brooke Terrell (Colleen Eng), Andrea (Steven) Summers, Caleb Terrell-Henry, Taylor Westerfield (Jonathan Sklarenko), Zane Rousey, Ein Rousey (Justin Mink), and Cade Rousey. She was the very proud great-grandmother to Fox, James, Abigail, Nova, Maebrey, Aslan, and Lyla, all of whom brought tremendous joy to her life.
Known for her caring heart, Betty was a natural caretaker. She selflessly devoted herself to helping others. The last portion of her life centered proudly around caring for those who were facing the end of life, offering comfort, compassion, and support to those in her care and their families. Her kindness and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Betty found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family, was an avid reader, and found peace in nature through clouds, water, and rocks. She enjoyed baking sweet treats for others, enjoyed bird-watching with Dawson in their yard, and creating a family bound not by blood but by love. Her home and welcoming arms were always a place of warmth, comfort, and acceptance.
A woman of remarkable strength and resilience, Betty faced life's challenges with grace, courage, and resilience. She defeated cancer three times and survived a massive heart attack, demonstrating the determination and spirit of a warrior that inspired everyone around her. Through every trial, her faith remained steadfast.
While her family and friends grieve her passing, they find comfort in knowing that Betty has been reunited with those that she loved who have passed on before her and is now resting peacefully at the feet of Jesus. She was preceded in death by her loving parents: father George Edward Gaddis, mother Bernice Curtis Gaddis Hanson, and step-father George Frank Hanson, and sister Martha Frances Gaddis Kendall, along with a host of heavenly angels that she has longed for in her heart.
Betty's legacy of love, service, strength, and faith is something that she would want to live on through the lives of her family and the many other lives that she touched. She will be deeply missed in this time of separation and forever remembered.
