Barbara Jean Potter Arnold, 76, of Danville passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026. Born on October 8, 1949, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Carrie Bell Daugherty Potter and Thomas Wilson Potter.

She graduated from Danville High School in 1967 and Georgetown College in 1971, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She had worked at the Department of Employment Services for 27 years and was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth P. Arnold; her 2 sons: Kevin (Carla) Arnold of Danville and Corey (Tiffany) Arnold of Lexington; 3 grandchildren: Hayes and Hensley Arnold of Danville and Ollie Arnold of Lexington; and 3 sisters: Elizabeth (the late David) Bibb, Nancy (the late Randall) Riley, and Brenda (Barry) Gipson, all of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 AM-1 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Gethsemane Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Dr. Timothy J. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Memorial contributions suggested to Gethsemane Baptist Church.
