Obituary

William Anthony Key, 61, of Nicholasville, formerly of Danville, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022.  Born January 24, 1961 in Danville, he was the son of the late William Earl Key and Phyllis Ann McKinney Key.

Anthony was a graduate of Danville High School and was in the Danville Admiral Marching Band.  He was a member of First Baptist Church-2 nd & Walnut and was in the Male Chorus. Anthony was a talented musician and extraordinary drummer who performed in various bands throughout Central Kentucky. Spending time with family and friends brought him great joy.

He is survived by his brothers: Joseph (Djkarta Johnson) Key and James Lamont (Tabitha) Key, both of Danville; his stepchildren, Timothy (Natassia) Johnson of Stanford and Ashley Johnson of Danville; 5 grandchildren: Bryce, Kennadi, and Jacye Johnson and Zoriyah and Zuri Yocum; an aunt, Martha Warren, of Lancaster; an uncle, Henry Key, of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Anita Key; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will truly miss the joy he brought to their lives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Latasha Johnson Key, and brother, Henry Key.

Visitation is 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17th at First Baptist Church-2 nd & Walnut, 200 W. Walnut Street, Danville. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 noon. Dr. Darrick Briscoe will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Mark Kinley, Paul Wilkinson, Lamont Damone' Key, Jacondre Key, Jakobi Turner, and Anthony Gilvin. Guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
