Alberta Estes Rowland, 88, of Moreland passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026.  Born June 4, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Anna Godbey Estes.

Alberta loved thrift shopping, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was an excellent quilter and enjoyed making quilts for her family.

Alberta is survived by her son, Cecil Wayne (Amanda) Rowland; daughters:  Gwen Russell of Liberty, Barbara Rowland of Moreland, and Verna Young of Stanford; sister, Betty Estes of Stanford; 15 grandchildren:  Kayla Ackerman, Dakota Young, Ryan (Nikki) Rowland, Scott Rowland (Riki), Raegan Rowland, Bryson Rowland, Stacy (Larry) Pitman, Jessica Russell, Renee Cunningham, Teresa (Phillip) Bradshaw, Lisa (Rod) Vaught, Sherrie Sweet, John (Rhonda) Russell, Marveta Russell, and Melissa (Eddie) Copley; 29 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mable Estes of Harrodsburg.

In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by brothers: Johnny and Nellus Estes; sisters, Evelyn Luster and twin sister, Roberta Estes; grandchildren, Jackson Rowland and Cindy Cox;  and great-great grandchildren: Cheyanne Barrows, Charlotte Ice, and Landon Crumrine.

Visitation is 5-8 pm, Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.  Funeral Service is 11 am, Friday with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating.  Burial is at New Salem Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Scott Rowland, Damien Ackerman, Cecil Rowland, Larry Pitman, Ryan Ray Rowland, Owen Rowland, and Bradley Passmore. Honorary pallbearers are Bryson Rowland, Ryan Rowland, Dakota Young, and Elijah Pitman.
