David Archer Long, 66 of Hustonville died Thursday, May 10, 2012. Born May 5, 1946, he was the son of the late Norma Baker Long Stein and Richard Albert Long. He is a US Air Force Veteran and served with the American Legion and VFW Post 7101. He was a farmer, a member of Bluelick Baptist Church and a retired Norfolk Southern Railroad Engineer. David was the beloved husband of 45 years of Betty Jo Denham Long. He is also survived by 2 daughters: Pamela Jo Wesley and Jamie Ann Young; 1 son, David Archer Long, II; 3 brothers: Clark “Shorty” Long, Irvin “Tob” Long and John Long; 1 sister, Brenda Sue Taylor; 8 grandchildren: Layne, Jacob, Elijah, Cole, Calli Jo, Faithlynn, Logan and Lexi Beth; and 2 great grandchildren: Jaxton and Branson.

Services are at 1 PM, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Byron Crawford, Ray Floyd, Buckwheat Gilbert, Jeff Godbey, Layne and Jacob Wesley, Elijah Lawson, Jason Robbins and Fred Richenbach. Military Rites by American Legion Post 18.
